The ImmersionRC PowerPlay solves that. Plug your camcorder in and it records straight to MicroSD in 60fps digital, no cassette involved. Works with most MiniDV, Hi8, and Digital8 camcorders, the cable you need depends on which AV output your specific camera has, see below.

Compatibility Guide

This kit's 3.5mm cable is built for Sony DCR-TRV900, TRV940, TRV950, TRV820, TRV740, TRV730, TRV240, TRV140, TRV130, and other camcorders with a built-in 3.5mm AV jack.

If your camcorder has a proprietary port that breaks out to 3 RCA plugs instead (common on VX1000, VX2000/2100, DSR-PD150, DSR-PD170), you need the 3-RCA cable instead.
